New Brainwashing / Predicitive Programming Video Game: America 2049

The teaser is linked to the game's website, America 2049, which features a countdown clock that indicates the mystery will be resolved next week. Until then, the story behind the game unfolds on a number of viral web sites, which can be conveniently accessed through Zooglio.com, a 2049 version of Google that includes links to sites that appear to detail the major themes of the game.
At SerennCo.com, a fictional pharmaceutical company, discover SerennAide, "the first-ever sociopharmaceutical clinically proven to safely reduce aggressive behavior among the general population."
Over at SMRTTid, learn about the subdermal chip that has been injected into countless Americans, acting as an identification and tracking device.
Then check out the two sides in conflict in America 2049, The Council On American Heritage, playing the role of big brother, and Divided We Fall, the resistance.
At this point, we still don't know what platforms America 2049 is being made for or even who is developing the game. Let us know if you track down any answers among the various viral clues.

'When children became addicted, their depression, anxiety, and social phobias got worse, and their grades dropped'

NEW YORK — There might be trouble brewing behind the glassy eyes of kids who spend too much time and energy on video games, according to a controversial new study.
In the 2-year study of more than 3,000 school children in Singapore, researchers found nearly one in ten were video game "addicts," and most were stuck with the problem.
While these kids were more likely to have behavioral problems to begin with, excessive gaming appeared to cause additional mental woes...

Fla. Woman Pleads Guilty to Shaking Baby to Death, Says She Was Angered He Was Crying While She Was Playing FarmVille

(CBS/AP) A north Florida mother has pleaded guilty to shaking her baby to death after the boy's crying interrupted her game on Facebook.
Alexandra V. Tobias pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Wednesday and remains jailed.
The Florida Times-Union reports that she told investigators she was angered because the boy was crying while she was playing the game FarmVille...

I haven’t been this emotionally invested in the video

That is, I’ve spent the last week playing two games that have left me gripping my controller so tightly I thought my fingers might permanently seize into hooks. While playing, I found myself shouting out loud not to mention fighting back tears. And when I’ve finally unclenched my fingers and put the controller down at night, these games have skittered about in my dreams.
The thing is, I can’t get “Alan Wake” and “Heavy Rain” out of my head.
Even if you don't consider yourself a gamer, if you love a good thriller — and more importantly if you love good story telling — then these two video games are something you absolutely shouldn't miss.
In February, Sony launched "Heavy Rain" for the PS3 — a game that puts players into the shoes of a struggling father and on the trail of a serial killer who’s killing children. And next week Microsoft will launch "Alan Wake" — a thriller about a novelist with a bad case of writer's block, a missing wife and some seriously nasty career problems to contend with.
These two games have said goodbye to the tired alien invasions and over-the-top fantasy stories so often found in video games. Instead, they peer into the dark reaches of the very real human heart to deliver stories that are thrilling, chilling and utterly absorbing...
