In the United States today, thousands upon thousands of ridiculous federal regulations tightly control almost every area of our lives. One example of this is that starting on January 1st, we are no longer going to be able to buy certain kinds of light bulbs in the United States. Back in 2007, President George W. Bush signed a law that mandates the following: "Manufacturers will no longer be able to make the 100-watt Thomas Edison bulb after Jan. 1, 2012, followed by the 75-watt version in Jan. 2013, and the the 60- and 40-watt bulbs in Jan. 2014." Yes, you read that correctly. Federal bureaucrats are running wild and the nanny state has decided that you are simply not going to have the choice to buy traditional light bulbs anymore. So why the change? Incandescent light bulbs have not been proven to be unsafe and consumers still want to buy them. The new CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) light bulbs are more expensive and are actually worse for the environment. So why was this law passed? The feds passed it because they decided that existing light bulbs use too much energy and have too large of a "carbon footprint". Instead of giving us choices and attempting to persuade us to change, the federal government is ramming their will down our throats. Well, it is about time that we told the federal bureaucrats that are trying to take our freedoms away that we want them to get their dirty hands off of our light bulbs. (Read More....)

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- It would be a stretch to say that Big Brother will hang out in Clevelanders' trash cans, but the city plans to sort through curbside trash to make sure residents are recycling -- and fine them $100 if they don't.
The move is part of a high-tech collection system the city will roll out next year with new trash and recycling carts embedded with radio frequency identification chips and bar codes.
The chips will allow city workers to monitor how often residents roll carts to the curb for collection. If a chip show a recyclable cart hasn't been brought to the curb in weeks, a trash supervisor will sort through the trash for recyclables.
Trash carts containing more than 10 percent recyclable material could lead to a $100 fine, according to Waste Collection Commissioner Ronnie Owens. Recyclables include glass, metal cans, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard.
City Council on Wednesday approved spending $2.5 million on high-tech carts for 25,000 households across the city, expanding a pilot program that began in 2007 with 15,000 households.
The expansion will continue at 25,000 households a year until nearly all of the city's 150,000 residences are included. Existing carts might be retrofitted with the microchips...

Prince Charles: Says taking showers rather than baths could save £15 per year
The instruction came at the end of a list of 20 lifestyle changes recommended by the Prince of Wales for his new green campaign, Start.
In separate advice endorsed by the Prince, he was more detailed – urging people to give up baths in favour of 'short, refreshing' five minute showers.
His campaign website reads: 'Snub the tub. If everybody in a four-person family replaced one bath a week with a five-minute shower, you could save between £5 and £15 per year off your energy bill.'
However, the 61-year-old Prince might need to tackle his own family's washing habits before telling the rest of the country how to behave. His father the Duke of Edinburgh, 89, takes baths...

Brooke Shields Espouses Global Warming Hoax Propaganda
By Hollie McKay / FOXNews.com / LOS ANGELES
The actress says she is concerned with the growing skepticism surrounding global warming.
The subject of global warming has become a hotly debated topic over recent years, with many questioning whether it is an issue worthy of serious concern or whether it’s simply a marketing
But one person who is concerned about the skepticism against global warming is Hollywood actress, Brooke Shields.
“It all upsets me because I feel like we keep losing sight of simpler, smaller things,” Shields told Pop Tarts. “I don’t know what is true or not, I only know what I can do on a daily basis because I believe in it. Whether I am turning the water off in between brushing my teeth, which my little daughter is the police of, or I am recycling, or switching my products or using an energy saving washing machine…. I just have to do the best that I can do and keep doing more.”
Shields stars alongside Brendan Fraser in the new family comedy “Furry Vengeance” which is centered around a real estate developer who has to go up against a clique of angry animals when his new housing subdivision encroaches on their habitat. Led by a raccoon, the woodland critters seek revenge to stop the construction and teach the developer about the environmental consequences of humankind invading nature.
“There’s an eco message but it is not something that we’re preaching,” Shields explained. “We hope it spurs conversation with our kids about Mother Nature, the environment and the animals and how they can respect that.”
Speaking of kids, the stars of the “Furry Vengeance” and its studio Summit Entertainment have gone one step further and teamed up with Participant Media (a Los Angeles-based entertainment company which focuses on socially relevant, commercially viable feature films, documentaries and television) to integrate a social action campaign that will coincide with the film’s release.
The campaign will focus on further advocating the message of wildlife

WEBMASTER - MY REVIEW
WOW! I do not know where to begin! Talk about Orwellian-doublethink!
Ms. Shield says "I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS TRUE OR NOT..." Okay, then why don't you do some investigation and find out "WHAT IS TRUE OR NOT" ?
Then she says "HER LITTLE DAUGHTER IS THE POLICE OF HER" turning the water off in between brushing her teeth. GEORGE ORWELL CALL YOUR OFFICE... He writes about this in 1984...
"Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it... All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children."
- George Orwell, 1984, Book 1, Chapter 2
Hey Brooke, read the aricle Parents, Watch Out For Your Children
Then there is more Doublethink when she says "There’s an eco message but it is not something that we’re preaching..."
This article shows Ms. Shields to be a classic example of a product Orwellian-Socialist-Indoctrination. Or, as Karl Marx would put it...she is a REALLY "Useful Idiot" (and famous, too).
I would advise Ms. Shields to do a Google-search on the term "Climategate" and go to the following sites...

The growing threat of a stealth tax on the rubbish we throw away was exposed by startling figures yesterday.
More than 2.5million homes now have wheelie bins fitted with microchips to weigh their contents.
This is an increase of nearly two-thirds in just a year. The bins, which can be electronically identified and weighed, are designed for 'pay-as-you-throw' rubbish tax schemes.

Stealth tax: 2,629,052 homes have now been given bins with chips
Under such schemes - which are likely to be hugely unpopular - families who put out more waste will pay higher taxes to their local council.
